Day 3 - Monday 11th April 2011

Mivumoni Library

A leisurely morning around Mivumoni - some of us went for a walk and met a chameleon.

And some dung beetles on fresh dung.

View of Zoombo Hill past a cassava plot - which used to be a football pitch.

A herd of cattle led themselves up the track, this one left behind.

We stopped at this little shop to buy sodas. The shop is conveniently close to the new library.

After lunch it was time for farewells, as Diana and Annie are leaving Mivumoni to fly home tomorrow.

One of the new sugar plantations on the road to Msambweni.

We stopped at the Bombolulu Cultural Centre, which raises funds to support the physically handicapped.

Joe knows how to relax.

A man making carved animals in the workshops.

This man uses a sharp knive to refine the carving.

In the evening we all went to visit some friends of Joe in Nyali, enjoying dinner and conversation in the garden. Here are Susan and Douglas, friends of the hosts.

Annie sandwiched by Susan and Mary, two Mary Knoll Lay Missionaries from the USA. (Mary has taken over Coralis' project to keep the children of HIV+ people in school since we were last here)

Hostess Yvonne (left) supervises the food.
