Day 11 - Over the border to Pals

A full report will follow - but the excitement is that we're now on a Wi-Fi enabled campsite http://www.campingneptuno.com/, so uploads will be easier and e-mails / MSN messenger communications can happen. But now we're off to the pool!

And so here is the full report! We packed this morning under a clear blue sky, and it soon got pretty hot. Eventually we were packed, reshowered, said farewell to Mary & Mark, and on our way. We took  short break at the new Intermarche at Ceret before joining the motorway south, crossing the border, and descending into Spain.

Deirdre took us across country towards Pals, then we cut out to St Pere Pescador, which I remembered being mentioned in a guide book. But we drive through and out to the coast, or at least the landward side of huge campsites. Anyway, it brought us into Torroella di Montgro from the north rather than the north west, which made a change.

Soon we reached Camping Neptuno, found a pitch that was big enough, and ate lunch. We then erected the tent in strong winds (some people deputed to stop it flying away until it was pegged down). And here we are again...

This pitch has a view through the pines of Montgri itself.

Then a coolling off in the pool

...before driving to the beach, with clearer views.

The wind meant that the beach was deserted, with waves in the sea and sand blowing down. Sandblasting - good for exfoliation!

Back via the shops for a quick tea so the girls could swim again

And as we sat after supper the sun set...
