Day 3 - Tuesday 21st August 2012

Tobermory Cyprus Lake

After another leisurely breakfast, we headed south to Cyprus Lake in the National Park for a hike to the lake shore. But first, photos at Cyprus Lake itself - the photographers...

... and the subject.

It was a lovely morning for walking - bright but not too hot.

When we reached the shore of Georgian Bay we knew why people hiked out here.

There were lots of people, but it didn't feel crowded.

Happy hikers!

So much to photograph!

Turquoise shoes, turquoise lake.

Bridget climbs through a small cave.

...and climbs up through the grotto.

Cliff jumping is forbidden - but it still happens! Canadians aren't that law-abiding!

Posing after our snack on the rocky beach.

Dory poses for a portrait.

Watching Dory!

An Inuksuk showing the way.

Marr Lake, just behind the beach.

We saw a few garter snakes - Bridget managed to catch the full length of this fellow.

Meld collects leaves.

Pretty flowers (a type of salvia?)

Dory runs to Bridget...

...who got her too.

Our walk route

On the way back we stopped at a fruit stand - among the other delicacies from Niagara, Bridget liked the purple peppers.

So much lovely fruit.

After a lovely lunch back at the cottage, relaxing on the deck with an Upper Canada Lager and James' home made soup, we headed into town for shopping, after which the girls shared a Beavertail (like a flat doughnut with chocolate and banana). Afterwards, Rosie had chocolate on hands, face and legs!

After supper, the girls rode the bike up and down the road.

Then we had a campfire...

Marshmallows were toasted, and chocolate melted on biscuits...

...and made into a sandwich called a "smores". Scrummy :)
